If you awp a spot, would you keep your crosshair on the edge of where the enemy would come out, or would you move it away from the edge a bit to make it easier? This is assuming after the edge, there's clear space. For example, if you had an awp as a ct watching cat on de_dust2, would you place your crosshair on the box on cat, or a bit further out? Personally, I place it right on the edge and move my crosshair to the enemy if they rush out. Is that wrong?

I would never leave my crosshair right up against the wall that the opposing team is going to be coming out of. The reasoning for this is that first, my reaction time just isn't quick enough to hit that shot consistently if the T were to run out. Secondly, it's easier if you aim for the position where the T would be running to, because that shot is harder to hit so you want to make it as easy as possible for yourself. Meanwhile, if the T were to walk out and peek you, they would be standing still so it would be easier to whip your crosshair and hit a stationary target rather than whip your crosshair to hit a moving target. In my idle time or in the beginning of the round, I would put my crosshair where I feel comfortable, and do a couple practice whips just to try to get it down a little better each time.
