CEVO-P Placement Groups

The Cyber Evolution online gaming league has managed to put together yet another incredible list of teams competing for the chance to participate in their prestigious Profesional division.  The team list consists of the top teams in their main division, finalists from the Atomic Theory event, as well as last seasons sub-par Professional teams and several application spots filled by rising stars and returning CGS players.

Due to the prestige of the league, a total of just 4 teams will be accepted, leaving the other 21 in the Main division.  With such a high number of skilled teams in their Main division, CEVO would appear to have the stature CAL-Main & Invite had once claimed.

For dates, times, maps and rosters for upcoming matches, please visit the scoreboard.

Group A
Definitely one of the easier groups in comparison.  Although newly formed, or still an unoffiical team, Something Tasteful should easily take this group, most likely having some close encounters with Dynasty Gaming and Stacked Like Pancakes along the way.

Expected to Advance: Something Tasteful, Dynasty Gaming, Stacked like Pancakes

Group B
Probably the most difficult group of the event in terms of evenly matched teams.  I'd say just about any team in this group could beat every other depending on the day, so it'll really come down to some close ones here, but could really go any which way.

Expected to Advance: North Stars United, Mirrored, MugNMouse

Group C
Easily the weakest group in the event.  Any team that advances in this group should really be thankful to make it into the double-elimination bracket.  Although, one more season, and these teams could be contenders.

Expected to Advance: Enhanced, Devasation, Hyeng's Money Crew

Group D:
This group could've been very dangerous for one of these teams had less than three teams been able to advance. Luckily for zEx and Jax Money Crew, a loss to one another shouldn't do any damage to a guaranteed spot in the double-elimination round.

Expected to Advance: Jax Money Crew, zEx, FURY Gaming

Group E:
Another very evenly skilled group of teams here.  I suspect there will be a good amount of third maps played here, possibly with some exciting overtime matches.  All of these teams are looking for their chance, but the odds of them going far in the double-elimination bracket are slim at best.

Expected to Advance: Sway Gaming, To the Dome, Dynamo

jmc vs zEx should be good, although i think zex still need a better 5th, and group E should be very interesting.

But im not quite sure how you have mirrored over GB, GB is a contender to win the group, with NSU imo

nice preds, should be fun to watch since teams are actually going to be trying hard =D

also, i think 34 vs dynamo is totally up for grabs.

dynamo is really a team that kinda came out of nowhere but has good players and good teamwork.

I think you're right about CEVO being what CAL once was. Theres gonna be at least 50 teams in CEVOm 40+ in which i believe should be there :]

If CEVO really wanted to make it like what CAL once was they would defiantly lower the amount of teams in CEVO-main to a smaller number and have it so it would be much harder to get into main.

right now anyone who is anyone can pretty much apply.. and since they accept so many teams everyone almost makes it!

#15 Or they could bring back SP and have that be a very small division.

nooo removing SP was the best thing they could've done

#15 its hard enough getting into CEVO-P with competing in group play then bracket play to have only the top 4 make it. There is not much sense of making CEVO-M hard to get into as well.. they already have a CEVOm placement tournament which determines who should be there and who shouldn't. CEVO-M has always been competitive.. and if you do well then you get rewarded with a Placement seed. I think CEVO chose the right way to go about moving up teams opposed to CAL.
