Sway
Gaming vs. Team 34
Without a doubt the pride of Canada,
Sway Gaming, has looked strong throughout this whole tournament.
With crushing victories throughout the event, Sway has manage to hold
a 64 – 18 margin of rounds so far. They have been looking strong
as ever and will continue to dominate their matches without letting
opposing rounds exceed into the double digits. Team 34 suffered a
loss early in the event on inferno 16 – 14 to Paradox only to make
a stunning comeback later in the event. With a total margin of 94 –
55, they seem to be able to take wins home but happen keep their
matches close. Since 2005, Blake “nolimit” Burton has manage to
keep 34 with a rock solid roster that stands consistent. After their
16-14 loss to Paradox they came back with a crushing 16 – 2 victory
against paradox to take over the losers bracket for good. One can
only assume that their weak point for this event are their maps. 34
seems to lack in take backs and clutches on inferno. Sway Gaming
dominated their inferno match and it looks to hold true for finals.
You have a match up of two amazing teams, but where one exceeds in
skill, another one will lack in map performance. I have hopes for 34
to maintain consistent, but I'm going to have to place my bets on
Sway Gaming.
PREDICITION: Sway Gaming [16] > Team 34 [6]
PTW: Blake “nolimit”
Burton (Team 34) // Garett “Grt” Bambrough (Sway Gaming)
Phrenetik vs. Zetsumei
A big surprise in the event
with the progression of Phrenetik. This team is not as known as
others currently competing worldwide but seem to show some promise.
For those who have not been following the outstanding performances by
Zetsumei, you really need to open your eyes and watch. Zetsumei has
been slowly but surely proving themselves over the past seasons going
from Open < IM < Main < Invite in 4 seasons straight. Their
CEVO M ass kicking in S11 gives me faith to see a new rising star in
CEVO P coming soon. The last time Zetsumei and Phrenetik met, Zet
came out on top 16 – 6 on nuke. Phrenetik got a good feel of the
competition for this tournament after playing their Inferno match and
performing every well. Zetsumei had to claim a FFW on their inferno
match so I hope they put in the extra practice time to keep holding
strong. I have faith in Zetsumei to continue to hold strong after
their stellar performance at the x3o Dust-off LAN. After losing to
Zet, everyone knows Phrenetik will need to work hard and study harder
if they want to find the weak point in Zet's armor.
PREDICITION: Zetsumei
[16] > Phrenetik [12]
PTW: Dara “phrozen”
Nhep (zetsumei) // Jacob “GeoffGreensly” Ott (phrenetik)
